[ Podcast ] Motherhood & Leadership

I was featured for Mother's Day by Coach Professionally on their podcast and blog for supporting mother's to thrive, especially women coming back to the workforce. I hope it inspires both men and women to support mothers weaving a healthy work/life balance.

In this article I share some of the Challenges of Balancing Motherhood and Career and Ways to Prepare for Motherhood and Professional Success.

I think the biggest key is building a strong connection with yourself. The workforce is full of narratives and expectations, and so is the parenting world.

Notice if you are feeling full of "shoulds" - "I should do XX" - notice where is that coming from? 9 time out of 10 that is not coming from your intuitive guidance. Learning to discern between the voice of my wounds and the voice of my inner guidance is essential for any leader in and out of the home.

Although I feel this article is more on the achievement side doesn't fully represent the work I do - I hope it inspires a few take aways to create a balance that works for you. The real work is to reshape motherhood and to reshape women in leadership - not try to mold ourselves to "better" fit the unleathy patriarchal systems - where there is no room for women to both thrive and honor their biological needs.

Reshaping motherhood and leadership look like women getting in touch with these biological needs and requesting//demanding // setting boundaries that support those needs. The real problem here - is that it has been many generations where women have denied these needs and "have" to disassociate to function.

The invitation is to return to your feminine body. Learn about the impacts of estrogen on your nervous system, follow your cycle, and learn about what happens when you go through feminine initiations - and care for yourself the way you actually need to thrive. This is what will serve women to thrive whether in motherhood, leadership, or both.
